And I thought my God! what an indescribable high
John Darnielle is arguably the best storyteller working in a rock/folk band these days, and I love how you can hear his voice (both writerly and singing) in even his simplest lines, even when he’s doing something as songwriting 101 as directly telling you exactly how his character feels.
This is an under-heard gem from one of his side bands.
